Character Changes

Increased Maximum Level | New Main Class Skills ]

Increased Maximum Level

The maximum level that players can reach on their main class has been increased from level 80 to level 85. The maximum level that players can reach on their subclass has not changed, and is still level 80.

New Main Class Skills

New main-class skills have been added. These new skills are determined by your subclass type(s). The types of skills that can be acquired by your main class differ depending on your specific subclass and subclass level.

  • Subclass Level 65 – One possible skill you can acquire: Common skill (increased attack and defense-related power)
  • Subclass Level 70 – One possible skill you can acquire: Common skill (increased attack and defense-related power)
  • Subclass Level 75 – Select one skill to acquire: Common 2nd stage skill (increased attack, defense power, physical critical chance, and magic casting speed) OR various special skills that are determined by your subclass
  • Subclass Level 80 – One possible skill you can acquire: Transformation skill that is determined by your subclass

Even if you delete your subclass, the corresponding acquired skill(s) will not be deleted. Your main class can acquire a maximum of 4 specialized skills for each subclass you have.  If you have all three subclasses, you can acquire a total of 12 specialized skills.

Adding New Skills

While in your subclass state, go to your corresponding subclass master NPC and get your subclass ability certification.

Take the certification to the Avant-Garde NPC in the Ivory Tower to acquire the corresponding skill.

You can acquire the skill only while in your main class state. There is no main class level requirement to acquire these skills.

None of the subclass certification items you receive can be dropped, destroyed, exchanged, or stored in a warehouse.

The number of subclass skill certifications is restricted, so you must make your decision carefully. For example, if your first subclass receives a skill certification at level 65, even if you subsequently delete that subclass and raise a new first subclass to level 65, you cannot receive another skill certification for your first subclass at that level.

You must complete the “More Than Meets the Eye” transformation quest in order to receive the subclass certification and to properly acquire the skill as your main class.

The special subclass-determined skills you can acquire are as follows:

Skill Reset

The Avant-Garde NPC in the Ivory Tower can remove the special main-class skills that you got via your subclass(es). The cost to do this is 10,000,000 Adena.

Note: This removes all previously learned certified skills and removes all certified skill-related unused items from your inventory. If you have paid to have your subclass certification skills removed, you must return to your subclass master(s) to receive your skill certification items again.

Class-Type Specific Transformations

When you reach level 80 on your subclass, you can acquire a class-type-specific transformation skill that can be used while you are set to your main class.

In order to acquire the class-type-specific transformation skill, you must complete the “More Than Meets the Eye” quest.

Once you reach level 80 on your subclass and receive the subclass skill certification from the corresponding subclass master, you can obtain the “Transformation Sealbook.”

You can acquire your class-type-specific transformation skill by going to the Avant-Garde NPC in the Ivory Tower. Speak to him while you are set to your main class.

Transformations

New Transformations

New transformations (normal and rare) have been added. You can use them after you’ve completed the “More Than Meets the Eye” quest and have acquired the skill “Transform – Onyx Beast.”

  • The Soulshot particle effect and sound will no longer apply when you are in a transformed state.
  • The Hero particle effect does not occur while you are in a transformed state.

Normal Transformation Types

Normal transformation types (warrior, magician, etc.) have been added for characters that are levels 70-80. These transformations function according to a specific job class, one has healer skills, one has wizard skills, and the other three have various warrior skills. After you obtain the transformation sealbook through hunting, you can acquire the corresponding transformation skill from Avant-Garde, the Transformation Wizard.

Rare Transformation Types

Rare transformation types have been added. These transformations have significantly stronger battle abilities than other transformations. You can acquire the “Transformation Sealbook” by hunting specific raid monsters, and you can acquire the transformation skill by taking the sealbook to Avant-Garde the Transformation Wizard.

The raid monsters that possess the Transformation Sealbooks and the player-character levels required to use them are as follows:

  • Zaken – Can be used by a player whose level 60 or higher
  • Anakim – Can be used by a player whose level 70 or higher
  • Benom – Can be used by a player whose level 70 or higher
  • Gordon – Can be used by a player whose level 76 or higher

Pets and Servitors

New Pets Servitor | System Improvements ]

New Pets

All pets can be raised up to level 86. The Pet Manager NPCs now carry a pet raising guide that includes helpful tips and information for raising your pets.

Fenrir

If your summoned Great Wolf is above level 70, you can evolve it into a Fenrir that is mountable by speaking with the Pet Manager NPCs.

Improved Baby Buffalo, Kookaburra, and Cougar

If your summoned baby Buffalo, Kookaburra, or Cougar is level 55 or above, you can evolve it into an improved pet by speaking with the Pet Manager NPC. An improved baby pet can cast buffs on its owner.

Great Snow Wolf, Snow Fenrir, and Red Dusk/Red Star/Red Wind Strider

All members of a clan that is in possession of the Rune or Aden Clan Halls may exchange their normal wolf or strider pet for a Clan Hall one. This can be done by speaking to the Clan Hall Gatekeeper located outside the clan hall. A Great Wolf can be exchanged for a Great Snow Wolf. A Fenrir can be exchanged for a Snow Fenrir, and Striders may be exchanged for a Red Star, Red Dusk, or Red Wind Strider, respectively.

The Great Snow Wolf, Snow Fenrir, and Red Striders possess unique skills that ordinary pets do not, and their defense and mounted moving speed are higher than those of normal (non Clan Hall obtained) pets.

The special Clan Hall obtained pets cannot be used unless a clan is in possession of a Clan Hall, but they can be exchanged again for the previous pets through the Pet Trader Mickey NPC in the Towns of Aden and Rune Township.

The summoning collars for the Great Snow Wolf, Snow Fenrir, Red Dusk/Red Star/Red Wind Strider cannot be dropped, exchanged, or sold.

Servitors

An attribute system that allows the summoners to transfer their attribute abilities to the servitor has been added. This only applies to Warlocks, Phantom Summoners, and Elemental Summoners and their associated third class.

When the summoner equips a weapon with an attribute that corresponds with that of the servitor, 80% of the corresponding attribute value automatically applies to the servitor.

The attribute value only applies to the servitor's attacks power, not to its defense power.

When the summoner receives an item grade penalty, the attribute system does not apply on their pets.

When the attribute of the equipped weapon does not correspond with that of the servitor, the attribute system does not apply.

System Improvements

Pet Weapon Upgrades

You can upgrade an ordinary Wolf's weapons to a Great Wolf's weapons, and a Great Wolf's weapons to a Fenrir’s weapons through the Pet Manager NPCs.

System Messages

You can now see your servitor’s or pet’s battle-related messages.

Instant Herb Items

Instant Herb items are now applied properly to pets.

Other Changes

The corresponding quest name has been added to all quest item tool tips.

The spell casting time for the Blessed Scroll of Resurrection has been decreased from 15 seconds to 3 seconds.

Active skills that have been bestowed on augmented weapons have been changed so that the skills cannot be used for 30 seconds after equipping.

The refresh timer for active skills bestowed on augmented weapons has been modified so that even when the item is unequipped, the refresh timer continues to count down. For example, when an item with a bestowed skill has a remaining refresh time of 10 minutes, the item is equipped for 5 minutes, then unequipped and put into the inventory for 3 minutes, only 2 minutes of re-use time will be remaining for that skill when the item is re-equipped.

The following changes have been made to Apella armor: Increased maximum CP and when the wearer is damaged by another player, a debuff no longer occurs. Instead, the player who is wearing the armor is now buffed.

  • Heavy: Increased M. Def., decreased chance of getting critical hit from another player (+ increased critical strike rate)
  • Light: Increased dodge, decreased critical damage amount from another player (+ increased attack speed)
  • Robe: Increased P. Def., increased moving speed (+ increased M. Atk.)

An ordinary Apella set can be upgraded to an Improved Apella set from clan merchants "Mulia" and "Ilia" with Clan Reputation, Knight's Epaulettes, and Adena.

The "Light" SA option on a weapon has been improved.

Beginning armor could not be exchanged by the Kamael merchant NPC named Trevor. This has been fixed, and Trevor will now exchange beginning armor.

The spellbooks that are required to learn level 40 through level 74 skills can now be purchased from the following merchant NPCs in newbie towns. (All spellbooks for the skills that you can learn without spending any SP will still need to be acquired from monsters.)

  • Human classes: Talking Island (Silvia)
  • Elf classes: Elven Village (Creamees)
  • Dark Elf classes: Dark Elven Village (Minaless)
  • Orc classes: Orc Village (Wosca)
  • Dwarf classes: Dwarf Village (Mion)
  • Kamael classes: Kamael Village (Miflen)

All spellbooks for skills that are level 74 and below now have level requirement information to learn the skill.

Monster Parade

A representation of each type of monster and NPC has been added to Fantasy Isle.

NPC Parade

The NPC parade, which takes place several times a day (according to the in-game time), goes through each type of play area on Fantasy Isle, allowing you to explore the wide array of NPC appearances that you have seen throughout the lands of Aden and Elmore. The parade occurs at set times (according to the in-game time). You can see each character's unique appearance depending on whether you see the parade in the day or in the evening.

Monster/NPC Appearances

When a parade occurs, some of the participating monsters and NPCs can be seen at the performance area on Fantasy Isle. These appearances show you a different side to the monsters and NPCs you know and love through special performances such as singing, circus team acts, and monster talent shows.

Underground Coliseum

Registering for the Games | About the Games | Win/Lose Conditions | Types of Coliseums]

An Underground Coliseum where you can enjoy a new team battle style of PvP (death match) has been added. You can travel to the Underground Coliseum free of charge via the Fantasy Isle teleport NPC and non-newbie town teleport NPCs.

Registering for the Games

You can register to participate in the games at any time, and as often as you like. There is no time restriction.

After you form a party consisting of at least seven members, the party leader can register for the games via the Admission Manager NPC.

The games occur in the order and frequency in which teams register for them.

About the Games

The games are death-match style and the winning team continues on to battle against the next team of contenders.

Before the party leader registers his or her team, the party leader and all party members must decide where their individual starting location will be when the battle begins by adjusting their order in the party window. The order directly affects where each member will begin the battle when they are teleported into the coliseum.

Once the game begins, a resurrection tower will appear in the coliseum. When a player is killed, he or she will join the match again near the resurrection tower.

If the resurrection tower is destroyed, you cannot automatically resurrect inside the coliseum; however, you can still resurrect inside the coliseum by using a resurrection skill or item.

Win/Lose Conditions

Victory in a game is determined by the number of kills.

If the opposing team has the same kill count, then the team with fewer deaths is the victor.

If both teams have the exact same number of points, the first team to have registered for the game will be deemed the victor.

You can also win before the end of a match by destroying all of the opposing team’s members.

Types of Coliseums

There are five coliseums in total. The coliseum you are sent to depends on your level.

  • Levels 40-49
  • Levels 50-59
  • Levels 60-69
  • Levels 70-79
  • No level limit game

A quest tracker has been added to make it easier to check the process of a quest. Select the quest in progress from the quest info window (Alt+U). Press the "Notification" button at the bottom of the window to open the tracker—this will allow you to quickly check your progress. You can register up to five quests to the tracker.

Shortcut Keys

The shortcut key function has been improved. Default values as well as saved key values can now be changed.

Bundle Sale

The bundle sale function has been separated from the private store window and has been added as an independent action.

Skill Info Window

To make skill management easier, the skills window (Alt+K) has been made more detailed. Passive skills are now categorized under various expandable and collapsable headings rather than in one general “Passive Skills” area.

System Message

The battle system message has been improved. It now shows info such as the names of the attackers and defenders, magic information and so on depending on the situation.

Olympiad

An Olympiad notice function has been added to make it easier to watch the Olympiad.

When you select "Watch Match" via the Olympiad Manager NPC, you can now check the status of each arena.

Adjustable Character Display Option

An option (slider) that adjusts the number of characters and NPCs that appear on the screen has been added.
